Deaf & Hard of Hearing
The CESA 12 Deaf/Hard of Hearing Program offers students with a hearing loss identified by an audiologist, their families and school a wide range of services specifically tailored to each particular hearing loss.
Students may qualify for auditory/oral therapy, instruction in communication modalities including but not limited to audition/speech, sign language, visual phonics, sign supported speech, etc. Students may also receive instruction in understanding their hearing loss, compensatory skills, self-advocacy and amplification management.
School personnel may benefit from in-services, consultation and academic support including direct student instruction.
Families will receive on-going support, communication and specialized training/intervention as determined by the specific needs identified.
