CESA #12 Board of Control
A CESA is governed by a Board of Control, consisting of locally elected school board members from districts within the CESA region. The Board of Control assures that programs and services are responsive to the grassroots needs of local districts within that region. Programs and services provided by each CESA vary depending upon the regional needs of an area. The Board of Control determines Agency policies; obtains Agency funding; approves service contracts with school districts, private schools and other public institutions; assesses service costs to local school districts; authorizes money spent for equipment, space and personnel; and contracts an Agency administrator. The Agency administrator coordinates the services provided to local school districts by the Agency. This person also coordinates the Professional Advisory Council (PAC) composed of the school district administrators from each school district in the CESA area.
